This Doesn't Make Any Sense?

I'm black but my last name is D'Luca which is Italian. Italians didn't come to the US during colonization, so I don't think if any of my ancestors were slaves that the 'master' would be Italian. So how did I end up with this last name? I don't have any Italian in my family that I'm aware of.
